[Est-grad-rrp] Funding source workshops

La Facultad de Ciencias Naturales auspicia estos seminarios sobre la búsqueda de fondos para la investigación. Están invitados a participar

estudiantes y profesores de todas las disciplinas. Se ofrecerá el mismo material en tres fechas diferentes: 20 de octubre, 1-4pm; 27 de octubre, 9-12:00 y el 10 de noviembre, 9:00 - 12:00. Se celebrarán en el Aula Virtual del Centro de Cómputos de Ciencias Naturales.  Los interesados deben confirmar su asistencia con la Sra. Sheila Ward por correo electrónico: sward at cnnet.upr.edu <mailto:sward at cnnet.upr.edu> .  Esta es una excelente oportunidad para que los estudiantes internacionales puedan identificar fondos para sus investigaciones.

The Campus Office of External Resources and the College of Natural 

Sciences are sponsoring workshops on how to use the funding search 

services available on campus.  These workshops are geared towards the 

Natural Sciences, but open to graduate students, staff, and faculty from 

other disciplines.  This opportunity should be especially helpful to 

foreign graduate students who are looking for funding for their studies 

and research.

 

These workshops will each cover the same material, and will be held on:

 

Friday 10/20/2006 1-4pm

Friday 10/27/2006 9-12pm

Friday 11/10/2006 9-12pm

 

All will be held in the Aula Virtual of The College of Natural Sciences.

Content will include the basics of how to search for funding, sign up 

for your own funding alerts, and the expertise databases available at 

the Community of Science, SPIN, and the Illinois Research Information 

Service.  These funding search services are all available to the 

community of the College of Natural Sciences, and can be accessed by any 

computer located in the College buildings.  Federal, foundation, and 

corporate sources of funding are covered by these services.  One great 

option is to sign up to receive your own funding alerts from these 

services.  The expertise databases are also a useful tool.
