The San Juan (PR) chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) would like to remind local U.S. and international women scholars that applications for fellowships, grants, and awards for the 2007-08 academic year are available at the AAUW website (www.aauw.org/education/fga/ ). Note that deadlines for dissertation writing, postdoctoral research, and publication fellowships are fast approaching on November 15, 2007 (see links below to download these applications).

 

The AAUW Educational Foundation is the world's largest fund devoted exclusively to women's graduate work and scholarship.  American Fellowships support dissertation writing, postdoctoral research, and publication.  Career Development Grants provide support for women with a bachelor's degree to change or advance their career, or reenter the workforce.  Community Action Grants are awarded to individuals, AAUW branches, or state organizations for innovative programs or projects that promote education and equity for girls and women.  International Fellowships are also available for women scholars who are non-U.S. citizens or permanent residents, while Selected Profession Fellowships are awarded to women in degree programs where women's participation is traditionally low.
